A little over a week ago, we spent a slow Friday afternoon opening up a thread on one of New Orleans' most crucial restaurant questions: What are the best po' boys around? The responses were somewhat surprising. While po' boy shops can be the source of a whole lot of pretty intense debate, this time around two shops emerged as the clear favorites. Those were Parkway Bakery & Tavern and Domilise's.

In the end, one anonymous commenter nailed it: "Best Po'Boy depends on where you live they are all great, what's your local?" So while Parkway and Domilise's ran away with it, and Crabby Jack's and Parasol's both garnered a number of nominations, after that it became a delightfully difficult list to curate. In the end, we whittled it down to an even dozen, which allowed it to comprise 11 of the best po' boy shops in town and one more upscale option, Dick & Jenny's.
