The Updated Eater Heatmap: Where to Eat Right Now

More often than not, tipsters, readers, friends and family of Eater ask us: Where should I eat right now? What are the new restaurants? What haven't I heard of? What's everyone talking about? And while the Eater 38 is a crucial resource covering old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not a chronicle of the 'it' places of the moment. Thus, we offer the Eater Heatmap, which will change continuously to always highlight where the foodie crowds are flocking to at the moment.

This month, not a lot of major changes, but Del Fuego Taqueria comes on board.

Folks are all abuzz about Adolfo Garcia's Argentinian steakhouse, because they just moved into the former a Mano space. More seating, a slick new revamp, but the same iImpeccable service, steak, and insanely decadent provoleta grilled cheese appetizer.

NOLA Smokehouse

Rob Bechtold's highly regarded pop up has new permanent digs in the LGD. Open Tuesday thru Saturday at 11 a.m. until they run out (or 5 p.m.), this is the spot for all thing barbecue including crazy specials like smoked escargot.

This new Marigny haunt has a gastropub vibe, with craft cocktails, and food from chef Jim Bremer who specializes in locally sourced, rather eclectic French/Southern comfort dishes, plus crudo and oysters.
Chef James Cullen just rolled out his small plates menu at this Mid City bar/art gallery and the early word is very good. From little jars of chicken liver pate to coriander crusted lamb chops, Cullen's dishes span diverse cultural influences and definitely bringing something new to Tulane Avenue.
