Let's face it, New Orleans isn't much of a slider town. In fact, given the chance to downsize any form of sandwich or burger here, would most of us actually choose to do so? We are the land of giant and messy roast beef po' boys and Muffullettas big enough to have their own elliptical revolution.

Even so, there are a few places known for their outrageously delicious sliders. But if you think that means you're going to find a mini cheeseburger at every stop you're wrong. From pork belly to duck pastrami, here are Five Must-Try Sliders in New Orleans.

Got a favorite slider that isn't on the list? Leave a comment, or send us an email, and we'll update this map live during Slider Power Hour.

Three Muses

Three Muses, the Frenchmen Street music/small plates hub is home to simply THE BEST sliders in New Orleans, if you're down with succulent lamb meat topped with tomato chutney and goat cheese. Chef Dan Esses also offers the popular slider at French Quarter Fest, along with his amazing Feta fries.

Wayfare

Wayfare is a relatively new sandwich shop and bar on Freret, with Galatoire's/Borgne alum Kevin White running the kitchen. His menu primarilly consists of huge, killer sandwiches, but there's also a bar menu featuring incredible sliders, like the Philly Cheesesteak version pictured.

Cochon Butcher

Okay, so the duck pastrami sliders have nothing to do with classic sliders. It's really a duck pastrami/grilled cheese sandwich cut into fours, but anybody who has ever stepped foot in Butcher knows to order these melty, smoky sliders even if you order another sandwich too.

At this newly opened restaurant in the Hotel Modern, Chef Mike Nirenberg makes a trio of hoison-glazed pork belly sliders with a mildly spicy slaw on Maple Street Patisserie brioche. Nirenberg is also offering a special slider with Two Run Farms beef and slaw for Burger Week.

The American Sector

At John Besh's American Sector, "Mini Cheeseburgers" are served with bacon-onion marmalade. Finally, somebody who calls it like it is.
