It's fall in The Crescent City and with nice weather now upon us— perhaps just for a day or two— it's imperative to turn an eye to outdoor dining. Now, New Orleans has oodles of topnotch outdoor dining areas from the Quarter to the Lakefront, so let this be a starting point for the uninitiated.
These al fresco hotspots have all been open for a year or longer—in some cases, much longer— so they are tried and true favorites for dining and drinking outdoors. There are courtyards, balconies, patios, and backyards in nearly every part of town. Some spots offer live music, some are family-friendly, and many have views to die for. The cuisine at these restaurants ranges from Vietnamese to upscale French Creole to seafood to cocktail-centric bar bites. There really is something for everyone here.
Please note: These restaurants are arranged by neighborhood, not by ranking.
