After you’ve planned your main meal for November 25, consult this guide to seek out the right pie to end with, from the traditional to the unexpected.

Bywater Bakery is consistent in offering the most options for Thanksgiving pie, and this year is no different. Choose from butterscotch pecan; chocolate peanut butter; apple rosemary; sweet potato chiffon; butternut squash pecan praline; and the amazing blueberry elderflower (vegan!). Gracious has some great pie options available for pickup at the Uptown or Mid City locations this year, including lemon icebox, Louisiana pecan, and apple crumble.
To order: Order online on or before Monday, November 22 for pickup on Wednesday, November 24.

In addition to La Boulangerie’s menu of starters and breads, there’s also just about every pie, tart, or cake, from pumpkin, apple, and pecan, to chocolate cream, lemon meringue tart, and chocolate ganache.

The lovely La Petite Grocery has all of their regular pastries available to order for Thanksgiving, as well as apple galette, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, pecan tart, and a brioche fruit tart.

3005 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie
Alison Vega-Knoll and Chris Wilson’s year-old gourmet market is offering pumpkin and pecan pies to feed 8, for $34 and $36, respectively.

2701 S. Broad St., Mid City
Keep it seasonal with a traditional pumpkin, pecan, or sweet sour cream apple, or go fruity with peach or blueberry lattice from Laurel Street Bakery. For non-pie options, the bakery is also offering pumpkin bread pudding, gingerbread cake, apple bundt cake, or chocolate mousse cake.

Thanksgiving ordering is live at Levee Baking, where the talented Christina Balzebre is slinging chocolate buttermilk, roasted sweet potato, and lemon meringue.
To order: First-come, first-served; pickups are Wednesday, November 24.

Kelly Mayhew’s delightful bakery has pumpkin, bourbon pecan, Dutch apple, chocolate meringue, and excitingly, black cherry pies available this year, ranging from $18 to $28 (more details found here).

If you haven’t tried the fairly new Windowsill Pies, Thanksgiving is the time. Offering some of the most creative options this year, Windowsill has almond-laced apple, Amaretto pear and dried cherry, an apple Frangipane tart with Grand Marnier glaze, and gingered pumpkin tart with candied pepitas. They’re all on the slightly pricier side ($39-$40), but are true works of art.
