Where to Order Last-Minute Christmas Dinner in New Orleans

These New Orleans restaurants still have Christmas meals available to order for takeout

There are a number of reasons to let a restaurant handle Christmas dinner this year, from months of nonstop home cooking to the increasingly important need to support New Orleans restaurants. Luckily, a record number of places are offering holiday meals for home this season, and there are even a handful of options still available for those who haven’t figured out their meal yet. These are a few New Orleans restaurants still taking orders for Christmas takeout — though most ordering deadlines are the end of Monday, December 21. Carrollton Market

Options abound at the Uptown restaurant for Christmas dinner, from a la carte ordering of dishes that serve four to six to two holiday package options between $135 and $175 (also serves four to six). Order prime rib, honey-glazed ham, glazed beets, oyster stew, strawberry satsuma pie, and much more online here by December 21 to pickup by December 24.

Commander’s Palace

Commander’s new to-go operation Le Petit Bleu is offering two-course meals for four people, sides and soups by the quart, and oyster dressing and molasses whipped sweet potatoes for Christmas dinner at home this year. Order online for pickup December 21 through December 23.

Compere Lapin

The Christmas dinner meal kit from Compere Lapin is an excellent heat and eat option, priced at $60 per person for a seasonal chopped salad; adobo roasted porchetta; rice and peas; sweet potato and sage puree; mirliton and potato gratin; and pecan pie. Orders can be placed at Compere Lapin Online Ordering for pickup on December 24 between 3 and 9 p.m..

Fowlmouth NOLA

Puerto Rican pop-up kitchen Fowlmouth NOLA has one of the most generous ordering deadlines available (December 22), and the excellent menu includes pork plates, tamales, and sweet potato empanadas. Order online here to pickup between 2 and 4 p.m. December 24.

Gabrielle Restaurant

Gabrielle has a huge and excellent menu of “Christmas groceries” to-go, which includes dishes like oysters Gabie, andouille cornbread stuffing, shrimp and mirliton casserole, duck jambalaya, and chocolate pecan pie all available in servings for four to six people. Call or preorder online by December 21 for pickup between noon and 2 p.m. on December 22.

Josephine Estelle

Family-style meals from Josephine Estelle start at $130 and serve two to four, with a menu of butternut squash soup, roasted turkey breast, a campanelle kit, and a chocolate pumpkin pie. Order online here.

Meril

“Meril Market” starts, sides, and desserts are available to order by 5 p.m. on December 21 for pickup on Wednesday or Thursday, and the offerings are vast — blue crab dip, Brussels spouts, black truffle gravy, mulled wine kits, and tres leches cakes are among them. Order online here.

The Munch Factory

Call the Munch Factory in Gentilly directly at 504-459-2180 by December 22 to order a whole roasted or turkey or chicken, jambalaya and seafood pasta, stuffed mirliton and green beans, and bread pudding and key lime pie.

Vessel

The church turned restaurant space in Mid City is open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and the global, a la carte menus for both days are available to-go via online ordering, available here.
