A trio of boozy, holiday-themed pop-up bars are returning to Louisiana this season, even as the current surge in coronavirus cases threatens a possible return of bar and restaurant restrictions in New Orleans and statewide.

Sippin’ Santa and the hugely popular Miracle pop-up will return to New Orleans, and Miracle will also hit Baton Rouge and Lafayette. Miracle, the global phenomenon that set up shop in New Orleans for the first time last year at cocktail destinations Barrel Proof and Longway Tavern, is returning to Barrel Proof, organizers have confirmed. The hip LGD bourbon bar will host Miracle starting November 23 using a walk-in only, first come, first served system.

Starting the day after Thanksgiving, tropical pop-up Sippin’ Santa will return to Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29 for the sixth year. Sippin’ Santa started in 2015, when Miracle spawned a tiki-themed sister beach-style pop-up bar. In 2018, New Orleans’s own tikiphile and well-known cocktail personality Jeff “Beachbum” Berry partnered with the company to spearhead the program, creating a festive menu with drinks like the Rum Rum Rudolph, made with pineapple juice, rums, and coffee liqueur, and the Parrot In A Pear Tree, made with blanco tequila, pear liquor, and lime juice. Sippin’ Santa is set to pop up in 26 locations nationwide this year.

Miracle will make its debut in Baton Rouge this year, taking over The Station Sports Bar and Grill from November 23 to December 29. Returning to Lafayette for the second year, Miracle at Pamplona Tapas Bar will run from November 27 through January 2. Due to the pandemic, Pamplona will offer to-go versions of the cocktail menu, which includes the Koala-La La La, La La La La made with gin, pine liqueur, and vermouth, garnished with a tiny koala wearing a Santa hat, and the Yippie Ki Yay Mother F****r! made with two kinds of rum, cachaça, and marshmallow orgeat.

Miracle pops up at Barrel Proof from November 23 to December 31, 4 to 11 p.m. daily. Sippin’ Santa at Latitude 29 will be open Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to. 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., from November 27 to January 1. to December 31, 4 to 11 p.m.

Update: November 22: This article was updated to reflect that Miracle pop-up organizers have confirmed it will return to Barrel Proof this year.
