New Orleans’s Willa Jean bakery and restaurant, opened by BRG Hospitality (formerly Besh Group) and pastry chef Kelly Fields, has partnered with online food marketplace Goldbelly to make Fields’ award-winning desserts available for nationwide delivery.
In the four years since it’s been open, Willa Jean’s sweet and savory breakfast pastries, biscuits, cookies, and breads have gained the bakery and Fields national fame, culminating in her 2019 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Among the baked items available for delivery via Goldbelly are cornbread and banana bread, and oatmeal, chocolate espresso, peanut butter, and chocolate chip cookies. Prices range from $59 (in serving sizes of 8-12) to $89 for a banana and cornbread combo pack.
Fields, Eater New Orleans’ 2016 Chef of the Year, has cooked in New Orleans for 19 years. She landed a cookbook deal last year with Ten Speed Press, where readers can look forward to more than 125 recipes, including one for her acclaimed chocolate chip cookies. The book does not yet have a release date.
