Pressed, a cheery CBD cafe known for serving a side of inspirational messages along with pressed sandwiches, wraps, and salads that appealed to a health-conscious crowd, will close its doors on St. Charles Avenue on October 12, Ian McNulty reports.
Owners Lesley and Artis Turner say they are putting their Dirty Dishes food truck back out on the street.
Dirty Dishes isn’t geared toward the health-conscious crowd, instead offering dynamic and often hedonistic twists on classics. Past menus included barbecued shrimp over smoked gouda grits; poundcake french toast; biscuits topped with brisket, a sunny-side up egg, and crawfish and andouille cream sauce. And then there’s this donut breakfast sandwich that popped up on the food truck’s Instagram account a few months before Pressed closed its doors.
Pressed opened in May 2017 after having a vendor stall in the St. Roch Market.
