Mr. Ed’s Oyster Bar & Fish House is expanding again, reports Ian McNulty at The Advocate. The restaurant — which combines traditional New Orleans flavors with contemporary seafood selections like charbroiled oysters — is slated to open at 821 Iberville Street in late October. Mr. Ed’s will take over the former V Sushi & Martini Space, which closed last year.
The new Mr. Ed’s will seat 200 across 8,000 square feet and will feature a stand-up oyster bar, like the brand’s other locations.
This will mark the fifth total location of Mr. Ed’s in Louisiana — the fourth in New Orleans proper and the second in the French Quarter itself. The budding local mini-chain has opened locations in Uptown and in Mid-City. The new French Quarter location is situated just a handful of blocks away from its established French Quarter spot, which is on Bienville Street.
Mr. Ed’s got its start in Metairie after taking over the spot formerly occupied by Bozo’s; parent company Mr Ed’s Restaurant Group celebrates its 30th year of business just this month.
