Picnic Provisions & Whiskey, the casual new restaurant from Ti Martin and Tory McPhail from Commander’s Palace and Reginelli’s founder Darryl Reginelli, will open September 10, according to a statement released today.
The restaurant, with dine-in, carry-out, delivery, and catering, will serve a menu of classic Southern dishes, picnic standards, and cocktails.
In the name of research, McPhail has “visited 80+ restaurants that serve fried chicken over the last year,” Martin said in an email. McPhail’s Instagram account has basically become a travel guide for fried chicken lovers.
The team hinted that there may be more Picnic Provisions & Whiskey outlets in the future. In early job postings, it was described as a “prototype for more to come.”
The partnership between Commander’s and Reginelli’s goes back to 2012, when the two restaurant groups partnered to expand Reginelli’s outside the New Orleans area, diversifying the Commander’s Palace family of restaurants portfolio.
