Rye & Pie Is Coming this Fall

Plus, Beignet Fest is back for its third year

The now-defunct Wood will soon be replaced by another pizza joint.

SWITCHEROOS — Rye & Pie is the concept opening in the former Wood pizzeria spot reports NOLA.com. Rye & Pie’s menu is still being developed, but pizza, sandwiches and salads are expected to appear. The bar menu will be heavy on the whiskey (natch.) The new pizza spot should open this fall; Wood closed on May 31. [NOLA.COM]

EVENTWIREBeignet Fest is coming back for a third year, with vendors from around the city and more than 30 beignet dishes. The Fest is happening on Saturday, October 6 from 10am until 6pm at Festival Grounds at City Park. VIP tickets, which grant access to a VIP tent and special port-a-johns, are $40.
