This Friday, a $100 ticket will net a five-course lunch, a slew of expert speakers and a whole lot of signed books. Brennan’s is putting on a mid-day feast (there’s actually a light breakfast involved too) to benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance on Friday, June 8th from 10am until 3pm.
The half-day extravaganza starts out at Napoleon House at 10am, where a light breakfast (African calas and Spanish café con leche) will be served. Next are talks and book signings from authorities on eight cultures that inspired NOLA cuisines — think SFA Founder Jessica Harris discussing the influence of African and Haitian dishes, and Napoleon House executive chef Chris Montero talking about foods from Spain.
Post-lectures and book signings, guests are sure to be hungry, so all will walk a block to Brennan’s for a five-course lunch by executive chef Slade Rushing. The courses are inspired by the different cuisines — think Italian crispy oyster raviolo and Haitian pork rillions. Wine pairings are included, as are taxes and gratuities.
Tickets are available online now.
