INTERVIEWS — Turkey and the Wolf’s zany Mason Hereford used to have completely different career goals, aspiring at one point to become a professional rollerblader. CBS interviewed Hereford, who is now plotting his second restaurant — Molly’s Rise and Shine. His first restaurant, Turkey and the Wolf, was named 2017’s best new restaurant in America by Bon Appetít.[CBS NEWS]
CHEF SHUFFLES — Chris and Laura McMillan continue hiring Delachaise alum to take over the kitchen at their Mid City cocktail gem, Revel. This time, longtime Delachaise chef R.J. Tsarov is leaving his post to join his Delachaise predecessor, Chris DeBarr, in the kitchen at Revel. (When DeBarr was at Delachaise, Tsarov was his sous chef.) Tsarov has held the executive chef position at Delachaise for the last decade. No word yet on a replacement for Tsarov. [GAMBIT]
NEWS — A woman allegedly threw utensils and sauces and screamed racial slurs at employees after receiving the wrong Chinese food at a Slidell restaurant. She allegedly hit the restaurant owner’s car on her way out of the parking lot. [4WWL]
COMING ATTRACTIONS — Hulking restaurant group Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts is opening Boulevard American Bistro in the Elmwood Center in 2019, taking over the space that was occupied by La Madeleine. There’s already a Boulevard American Bistro in Metairie. [NOLA.COM]
