The Franklin restaurant in the Marigny is closing, but Chef Alex Harrell will be moving into the space and opening a new restaurant with the team behind Angeline and owners of the Franklin.
“The Marigny is so unique with a sensibility unlike any other in New Orleans. It has always been one of my favorite spots in the city and I’m excited for the opportunity to work in this community,” Alex Harrell said in a press release.
Harrell closed French Quarter gem and favorite of Sofia Coppola, Angeline, on June 3.
While the new restaurant is not Angeline, Harrell did say that it’s still possible that he’ll revive the eatery at some point.
The Franklin, which opened in 2014, will close July 2. Harrell’s new restaurant is slated to open by the end of summer.
