SWITCHEROOS — At the end of June, Michael Gulotta will close his popular bar eatery, Rum and the Lash, to move it, the corned beef poutine, and the fish and chips to Mick’s Irish Pub by July 4. Here’s the full story. [NOLA.COM]

THE CHAINS — National chain Firehouse Subs is preparing to land in Algiers Plaza shopping center. The fast food eatery has set up a tent in the parking lot for job applications. [NOLA.COM]

RENOVATION REPORT — Starbucks on Harrison Avenue has closed for renovations. Along with updated decor, it’ll return with nitro cold brewed coffee in a month. [NOLA.COM]

Meanwhile in Baton Rouge, Chimes restaurant and bar with a cult following near LSU’s campus is adding a rooftop bar and about 6,000 square feet of dining space inside and out. (That’s about 50 seats.) It’ll close in July for the remodel. [ADVOCATE]

RIP — The Southern Foodways Alliance remembers Tee-Eva with a 2011 oral history. The pie and praline queen died June 7. [SFA]
