Mahony’s Is Now Slinging Its Po Boys in the French Quarter

It’s the second location for the shop

Mahony’s Po-Boys flung open the doors to its French Quarter location earlier this week, reports Ian McNulty at The Advocate. News broke that the brand — which has been in 10 years in business on Magazine Street — would be expanding back in early April. The new Mahony’s is at 3454 Magazine Street.

The menu, of course, features chef-inspired po boys along with an elevated and decidedly playful (and much bigger) menu. There’s a dish inspired by an episode of The Simpsons where Homer eats his way through New Orleans. The dish is crawfish almondine — fried crawfish tails in a butter-brandy sauce with sliced almonds and green onions. Also on offer: pimento cheese-spiked Caprese salad and an ice cream sandwich made out of bread pudding.

Mahony’s culinary director Casey Levy called the brand’s new French Quarter location “the playpen” — a kind of experiment to see how new ideas play out (and also putting out feelers for more locations in the future.)

The newest Mahony’s is serving lunch and dinner everyday, with brunch to come.
