Vegan Chinese Pop-Up Midnight Noodle Gets a Permanent Home

It’s running five nights a week at the Catahoula Hotel

Midnight Noodle, the vegan Chinese pop-up that’s been running since 2016, has found a permanent home inside the Catahoula Hotel in the CBD. Midnight Noodle will serve its vegan eats in the hotel five nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday, starting June 30th.

Midnight Noodle is the brainchild of NOLA native Melvin Stovall, inspired by his animal-free diet and an interest and training in Chinese (and Thai, among others) comfort foods he learned about while logging time in Los Angeles.

Midnight Noodle’s opening menu is full of the kind of dishes that made this vegan pop-up so popular: udon with three types of mushrooms, scallion pancake, spicy potstickers. Plus, there are two types of bao — one savory, with glazed tofu and pickled cukes, and one sweet with black sesame ice cream.

Tuesdays and Mondays at the hotel will host a variety of rotating pop-ups. Midnight Noodle is open at the Catahoula Hotel 5pm - 9pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and 5pm - 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
