COMING ATTRACTIONS—This August, Chef Eric Cook is bringing a new restaurant to Magazine Street: Gris Gris, reports NOLA.com. Gris Gris is taking over the former location of pricey tasting menu only Square Root at 1800 Magazine St.; Square Root closed on New Year’s Eve, 2017. Cook has worked at a slew of restaurants in New Orleans — Commander’s Palace, Bourbon House, Tommy’s Cuisine and Nosh, The American Sector. THE SHUTTER—Saucy’s BBQ is closing this week, reports NOLA.com. Saucy’s opened at 4200 Magazine Street in 2012. As per a Facebook post from the restaurant, the brand will live on — through events and pop-ups. [NOLA.com]
CHEF SHUFFLES—Liberty’s Kitchen has a new CEO in Dennis Bagneris, as per a release. Bagneris is Liberty’s Kitchen’s longest-serving employee — he started working there in 2011, and has now gotten the ultimate promotion.
