Insomnia Cookies, a late-night cookie shop and delivery service with over 100 locations around the U.S., will open in the longtime home of the now-shuttered Maple Street Book Shop (7527 Maple Street) by late summer or early fall, reports the Gambit.
Former University of Pennsylvania student Seth Berkowitz opened the first Insomnia Cookies after witnessing first-hand a demand for late-night sweets by fellow students. Insomnia’s location on Maple Street is close to both Tulane and Loyola University.
In addition to a variety of traditional cookies (snickerdoodle, white chocolate macadamia, sugar, etc), the stores sell cookie cakes, cookie sandwiches, and ice cream. There’s a variety of clothing options, like “tough cookie” tees for adults, leggings, and “smart cookie” onesies and bottles for babies.
Most Insomnia stores stay open until 3 a.m. and offer delivery.
