An SUV Rammed Into a John Besh Restaurant on Easter Sunday

This is no April Fools joke.

No foolin’ — an SUV crashed into Besh Restaurant Group’s catering and event space Pigeon & Prince in the Central Business District yesterday afternoon, reports NOLA.com.

A dark grey Toyota 4-Runner was stuck in the window of Pigeon & Prince, after apparently veering off the road. The 4-Runner also toppled and flattened the traffic light at the intersection of Camp and Common streets. The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment, though the extent of their injuries are unknown. There was another car involved in the crash, an Infiniti SUV, though its occupants refused EMS treatment at the scene, relayed an NOPD spokesperson to NOLA.com.

Besh — who stepped down from his leadership role at Besh Restaurant Group back in October amid a flurry of sexual harassment allegations — purchased the space that would become Pigeon & Prince back in 2016, while it was under the moniker Le Foret.

Update: April 2, 2018, 4:22 p.m.

The Shaya guest chef pop-up dinner set for April 7 is still on — it’s just being moved to the second floor of Pigeon & Prince. A rep for BGR stated that floors two, three and four of P&P are still fully functional.
