Severe thunderstorms with the possibility of high wind, hail, and tornadoes are shutting down festivals this weekend, with the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival being the latest to announce a closure.
The festival posted on its Facebook page, “ Due to the predicted severe weather, we have POSTPONED opening the festival until 4:00pm today!” Please be safe, but join us when you can!”
The French Quarter Festival announced yesterday that it would completely cancel activities on Saturday, resuming operations for its final day on Sunday.
