Gin Korean BBQ, the new do-it-yourself barbecue restaurant in Metairie’s Fat City threw open its doors at 3012 N. Arnoult Road on Sunday.
The new spot has grills at each table for DIY meat preparation, making it an engaging, sociable experience, co-owner Nga Vu told Todd Price in February. Expect the raw meat to come to the table with a selection of banchan or small side dishes, like kimchi, vegetables, rice, and tofu. T
In recent years, the New Orleans area has gotten several new Korean restaurants. Metairie already claims two others: the playful Gogi and long-running Korea House. Little Korea, a dressier, expanded version from the daughter of the owners of the now-shuttered Little Korea on Claiborne, opened in the Garden District in 2016.
Gin’s opening hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m. View the full menu here.
