Capulet restaurant is going to deliver the Bywater its first rooftop deck dining spot when it swings open with breakfast and lunch late this summer.
Chris St. John, co-owner and chef, is still developing the menu, but expect sandwiches like a bloody Mary roast beef (with beef braised in a tomato base, horseradish, roasted tomato aioli, and pickled green beans) and a kimchi BLT; salads; and rotating specials.
Inspired by the two years he spent at vegan hub, Sneaky Pickle, St. John also plans to include vegan, gluten-free, and healthy items, like broccoli falafel with lime, basil, and cashew cream sauce.
Located in a large warehouse building at the corner of Dauphine and Montegut Street, the interior has soaring ceilings, lots of exposed brick, and large, wooden beams. The ground floor seats around 250 people, plus there’s a full bar, the rooftop deck, and more seating around the mezzanine. In the evenings and on the weekends, the owners will use the restaurant as an event space with the idea that the space can be casual enough for daytime dining and swanky enough for a wedding reception.
The anticipated opening is the end of the summer. Here’s a sneak peak at the rooftop deck.
