Cava Owner Plots Family-Friendly Sports Restaurant

Lakeview’s Cava restaurant owner Danny Millan is plotting a family-friendly sports restaurant and bar that will open in July, reports Ian McNulty.

Planned as a destination for catching a Saints game (and affordable, casual, family-friendly dining), Azul will offer more than the standard wings, burgers, and beer. Millan is planning Cuban sandwiches, an “extensive” draft beer system, and wines by the glass that don’t cost more than seven bucks, according to the report.

Millan’s newest spot will be all new construction and have its own parking lot. Both Cava and Azul restaurants are on Harrison Avenue, but on opposite ends.

Since Hurricane Katrina, the Lakeview neighborhood has become home to an increasing number of young families, making it prime territory for family-friendly dining.
