Pastry chain Chez Pierre French Bakery is opening a fifth location in Lakeview next month, bringing its signature sweets and traditional Vietnamese specialities to the neighborhood.

The Advocate reports that the newest location will be lead by the owners’ daughter, Taylor Bui, who at 20 has grown up in the family business. Bui’s mother began operating the company in 2005, and built up locations in Metarie and Harahan from there.

The 141 W. Harrison Avenue location, formerly Pizza NOLA, is the first Chez Pierre in New Orleans proper. Bui plans to expand on the current amount of prepared meals to go and brunch dishes for weekend diners. Lakeview residents can also expect made-to-order spring rolls, rice noodle dishes, banh mi, and specialty pastries like croissant doughnuts. The location will continue to be an outlet for king cakes, which were distributed out of Pizza NOLA during Carnival season. The pizza spot blamed a disappointing 2018 king cake season for its post-Mardi Gras closure.

The Lakeview addition of Chez Pierre is expected to open mid-January.
