The CBD is getting a new adult-oriented entertainment venue/bar — and it has a custom jello shot machine.
Brechtel Hospitality will open Vintage Rock Club on Oct. 27 at 1009 Poydras Street. The venue is taking over the Rampart Room event space above the Walk-On’s sports bar.
Described in a statement as a “throwback bar” and high-end entertainment venue, the little kid flavors don’t stop with the jello shots. Chef Michael Brewer will bring fancy peanut butter and jelly to the menu, too. On the other end of the spectrum, the Vintage’s kitchen will also sling caviar.
Brewer also runs the kitchen at Copper Vine, the upscale Poydras Street wine bar Brechtel Hospitality opened at the beginning of September.
In addition to the automated Jell-O shots, there are also drink offerings like the Highway to Hell, a tequila-based cocktail.
Expect an interior flashing with big screen televisions playing “movies, music videos, commercials” and an interior design that is “deliberately indifferent and unapologetic,” bravely mixing colors and patterns (which actually sounds a lot like the current trend in decorating).
Vintage Rock Club opens its doors at 10 p.m. on October 27. Regular hours of operation are Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
