New Rock Club Touches Down in the CBD This Weekend

A gold-accented “multimedia experience” on Poydras Street

A new event space and bar (on weekends only) arrives in the CBD on Saturday (October 27), as Vintage Rock Club opens in what used to be the Rampart Room event space above Poydras Street.

And while it might be loosely rock themed, it’s not grungy — with well-shined wooden dance floors, glistening white furniture (with a few vintage touches), and plenty of purple lighting, it’s a little glam.

Vintage Rock Club aspires to be a high-end club experience — it has a hefty five VIP lounges complete with table service, and plenty of gold accents, from its mirrored bar to gilded Rio Crocodillo wallpapering.

As previously reported, there’s also a kitchen on site that will open up in the coming weeks, serving some wide-ranging options from caviar through to a fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich. (Food will not be served on the opening weekend, however.)

Located above sports bar Walk On’s, the venue is billing itself as a “multimedia experience” — beyond the club and bar accoutrements, there’s a 185-inch video wall, and a bunch of large TVs, which will lean into nostalgia with music videos and footage from historic rock concerts. All up, the venue says it’s hoping to create “the ultimate ‘concert club’ feel”, in its own words — take a look.

Vintage Rock Club opens Saturday (October 27) at 10 p.m., and will be open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and available for events at other times.
