Amici Ristorante & Bar Has Closed Its Doors

No more $5 pizza Thursdays at the spot on Magazine

FACEBOOK

Coal-fired pizza joint and home to $5-pizza-Thursdays, Amici Ristorante & Bar, has turned off the ovens and closed its doors, Ian McNulty reports.

The folks behind Jester Mardi Gras Daiquiris and Pizza originally opened Amici in the longtime Byblos spot on Magazine in 2013. Though the Rizzuto Management Group once had hopes of expanding the Amici concept, it sold the restaurant to Felix’s Restaurant Group (the group behind Felix’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar in the French Quarter) in July. The Felix’s group closed it briefly before reopening it with a menu that had been “streamlined and some dishes reworked.”

No word yet on what may move into the space. According to the McNulty report, a manager for Felix’s Restaurant Group said that no decisions have been made.
