Marilyn Manson has the absinthe Mansinthe. Willie Nelson has Old Whiskey River Bourbon. P Diddy has Ciroc. And now, Queen of Bounce and New Orleans native Big Freedia has her own rosé.
“I was insane and I really fell in love with this rosé. And I said, damn, and it was only offered in Spain, and I wanted to see how I could get it back to the U.S.,” she said in a call with Eater.
The rose should be hitting store shelves soon and will be available “wherever they sell liquor.” Her distribution company has been talking with Rouse’s, Walmart, Walgreens, Whole Foods, and “every corner store.” In short, “Freedia everywhere.”
(For readers unfamiliar with New Orleans liquor laws, alcohol can be sold at drug stores like Walgreens.)
If that’s not enough, Big Freedia also hinted at a cookbook coming out in 2018. She’s in the process of getting the recipes with accurate measurements into written form. “You know, I just free-hand. I’m good with free-handing and just spreading my love around food and nourishment.” Expect to see the recipe for her “Booty Poppin’ Potatoes” in the book, as well as some of the other recipes she loves making.
Eater is getting a first taste of the bounce queen’s rosé on September 12, when the sixth season of her reality show, now called Big Freedia Bounces Back, debuts on Fuse.
