Le’s Baguette Banh Mi Cafe Takes Over Il Posto’s Former Spot

Goodbye Italian food, and hello Vietnamese food

Le’s Baguette is opening in the spot that was formerly Il Posto

Le’s Baguette, a new banh mi cafe on Dryades Street, will open this September in the little 1800s-era cottage that housed neighborhood Italian cafe, Il Posto, for nearly 10 years. Very few details are available now, though the restaurant has applied for an alcohol permit.

Il Posto closed on August 14. Owner Madison Curry opened the Italian cafe in the Dryades neighborhood nearly 10 years ago, before a spa opened on the corner and before French Truck Coffee moved in across the street. It quickly began a comfortable and reliably good neighborhood spot to linger over wine, coffee, paninis, and salads. Curry closed the restaurant so she could move to New Jersey to be with her fiancé and change careers.

Eater NOLA has reached out to Le’s Baguette owners for comment and will update this post whenever more details become available.
