Tito’s Ceviche and Pisco will unleash Peruvian cuisine on Magazine Street next Monday, August 14. The new restaurant is located in the building, at 5015 Magazine Street, that once housed Sue Zemenick’s short-lived Ivy restaurant Ivy, reports Helen Freund of the Gambit.
Juan and Tatiana Lock are behind the project, with Juan Lock heading up the kitchen with sous chef and Johnny Sanchez alum Nanyo Dominguez Cervantes. The menu is built around traditional Peruvian dishes, such as lomo saltado (stir-fried beef tenderloin and onions with crispy potatoes); ceviche; and Pisco.
The interior of the restaurant was remodeled to make it brighter and some outdoor seating was added to the exterior.
New Orleans has seen a couple Peruvian spots open up in recent years: the cool Catahoula Hotel’s lobby bar with Pisco cocktails and Peruvian small plates, as well as the unpretentious Cuzco on Freret Street.
