Chef Amy Cyrex-Sins of Langlois has banded together with other leaders in the New Orleans culinary community to organize a gift card drive to support families who work in the hospitality industry impacted by the flooding from Hurricane Harvey. Participating restaurants will be accepting gift cards during business hours on August 29.

The team suggests that people should bring Visa or American Express gift cards, or gift cards from stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, and gas stations, to participating New Orleans restaurants, which will act as drop-off locations and distribution centers.

“There are more than 10,000 restaurants in the Houston area and this is our chance to return the hospitality after Hurricane Katrina,” Cyrex-Sins says.

Here’s a current list of participating restaurants. Additional drop-off locations will be announced on social media and on the group's Facebook page. Eater will update this list as necessary.
