REOPENINGS — Summer is over folks. Pizza Delicious returned from vacation and opened for business yesterday, according to a Facebook post. Meanwhile, fresh oysters will be coming out of Casamento’s again September 1 when the restaurant re-opens following its summer break. Kenton’s serves its final lobster roll for this summer next Tuesday.

OPENINGS — Baja NOLA opened July 4 at 2425 N. Hullen Street in Metairie, reports Todd Price. The new restaurant puts a New Orleans spin on Mexican cuisine. For example, Mexican street corn gets the crab boil treatment before being covered in cheese. Ricky and Jazmin Bermudez are behind the project. [NOLA.COM]

EVENTWIRE — Parkway is celebrating the return of a small boat, Po-boys, with a viewing party on the patio with jambalaya and Dixie beer this Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The boat, once considered lost during Katrina, actually saved about 30 people during the storm. Mid City resident Pete Becnel captured video of residents using the boat to rescue those trapped by the rising water during Katrina and he gave a copy to Parkway chef and owner Justin Kennedy five years later.
