GG’s Dine-O-Rama, the Irish Channel restaurant known for Chicago style hot dogs and the “St. Patty’s Day Massacre,” announced on Facebook that the business has been sold and the final day of service will be August 27, 2017. The restaurant’s website has already been taken down.
GG’s Dine-O-Rama opened as Gott Gourmet about a decade ago on the corner of Magazine Street in the Irish Channel with Chef David Gotter as chef and co-owner. In 2014, the restaurant revamped its image and its name, with a 1950s vibe and a menu of “refined comfort food.”
During the final week, it will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until they decide to close it.
So far, no word on why the business was sold or what is coming to that corner of Magazine Street. Eater has reached out for comment and will update this story as information becomes available.
