Mizado Has One Final Twist in the Restaurant’s Closing Saga

It closed several days ahead of plans

Facebook

First things first: On June 29, Mizado Latin Kitchen really and finally closed its doors. In a final twist to nearly two months of emotional whiplash among Mizado fans (as the restaurant group responsible for the closure went back and forth on the future of the margarita and taco hub), Mizado closed several days ahead of its planned July 1 closure.

Zea’s Rotisserie & Bar will open in the location, but representatives from Taste Buds Management, LLC (which owns both Mizado and Zea’s) say via Facebook that “some of Mizado’s most popular dishes may be featured at the new Zea location only.” Moreover, the new Zea’s will maintain “the same fresh, modern vibe you've enjoyed at Mizado - patio, bar space and all.”

Fans of Mizado were quick to air their grievances. Several pointed out that the only problem with Mizado was the location. Others said that there were already enough Zea’s nearby. The harshest criticisms complained that Zea’s is “mediocre,” “generic and dull.” Others just expressed their sadness that Mizado had closed.

After the long, drawn-out goodbye, it’s finally time to let it go.
