Yelp/business owner

Back to the Garden, a CBD restaurant known for affordable soups, salads, sandwiches, and vegetarian fare, will close its doors on July 28. Several restaurant-goers reported slips of paper announcing the closure included in their lunch bags. The owner confirmed the closure via phone.

Lakeview Harbor is moving from its Harrison Avenue address, but the burgers will stay. Ian McNulty reports that “the brothers Blake and Brandon Bennett, of Andy’s Bistro in Metairie, plan to develop a new restaurant...where Lakeview Harbor first debuted in 1993. The restaurant has not yet been named but Blake Bennett said it will be a family-friendly eatery with a focus on burgers in the kitchen and wine at the bar.” They plan to renovate the property and open in the spring.

Meanwhile, Shawn Toups, owner of Lakeview Harbor, is hoping to reopen the restaurant elsewhere in Lakeview, or at least nearby. Former Lakeview Harbor partner, Mark Schenck, is also plotting a burger restaurant in Lakeview. If things go as planned, Lakeview is about to get a lot of burgers. [ADVOCATE]
