Lakeview Harbor Burger Spot Plans to Move

Lakeview Harbor, the popular Lakeview restaurant known for shredded-cheese topped burgers, announced on Facebook that it has lost its lease at 911 Harrison Avenue. The lease expires January 31, 2018. The posting said that the restaurant hopes to remain in Lakeview and is committed to reopening at a new location. [FACEBOOK]

The Ruby Slipper Cafe is opening its first Baton Rouge outpost at 3535 Perkins Road this week. The grand opening takes place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. The breakfast and brunch mini-chain now has locations in Uptown, Mid City, Central Business District, Marigny, the French Quarter, Pensacola, Orange Beach, and Baton Rouge. [Eaterwire]

Bearcat, a new cafe on Freret Street, quietly opened its doors at the end of April. Todd Price reports that the new cafe from owner and chef James Reuter IV serves everything from chia-seed pudding with granola to eggs and bison sausage. Reuter’s mother has celiac disease, so Reuter is used to accommodating gluten-free diets. [NOLA.COM]
