Last Call for Dreamy Weenies Hot Dogs

Dreamy Weenies, the creative, little hot dog shop on Rampart Street that managed to delight both carnivores and vegans, announced it would serve its last hot dog on Saturday, July 29. The announcement was made yesterday on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Hey y'all! Dreamy Weenies has been serving the best hot dogs in the city (11 Best on the Planet -High Times Magazine and Top 5 Vegan Dogs -PETA) since July 28, 2012. According to the tip jar, we've served people from every continent (okay, not every. There's always Antarctica). It's been loads of fun too.

We have to announce that next Saturday (July 29, 2017) will be our last day to serve you the best hot dog you've ever had. Many, MANY thanks to all of you who have supported us all these years. We miss you already. Come eat!

The spot has been popular for meeting the dietary restrictions that come with being halal, kosher, vegetarian, or vegan. It also thrilled carnivores. The hot dogs came with creative, and often very New Orleans, toppings: red beans and rice, “seventh ward grits,” barbecue shrimp sauce.

Dreamy Weenies opened in August 2012.
