A new ramen spot is heading to Magazine this summer. Nomiya (no-me-yah) New Orleans ramen bar will open in July, according to a tip that led Eater to the restaurant’s Facebook page, which was launched yesterday.
A Yelp listing for Nomiya gives the restaurant’s address as 4226 Magazine Street. This is the former home of Rivista, the bakery and inexpensive brunch spot from chef Chris and Lisa Barbato that closed in May of 2016.
According to a Google business listing, the restaurant will be open Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays) from 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Nomiya will only be the second dedicated ramen spot open in New Orleans. The other one is kin, located in the Gert Town. Uptown ramen favorite Noodle and Pie came to a “regretful and sad end” in May of this year (along with a bunch of other restaurants).
Eater will update this post as more information becomes available.
