Shipley Do-Nuts Is Rolling into NOLA

Shipley Do-Nuts — a regional chain of donut shops began in Houston — is finally opening up a NOLA-area location, in Old Metairie, reports NOLA.com. Shipley Do-Nuts has been around since the late 1930s, and finally now, here in the year 2017, NOLA is getting its very own location.

The Old Metairie Shipley Do-Nuts — at 2561 Metairie Road — is slated to open in the late fall of this year, bringing its signature glazed, filled and iced donuts along with meat-filled kolaches to NOLA, after what basically amounts to a decades-long oversight. At least it’s finally (finally!) being made right.

This is hopefully, and likely, not going to be the only location of Shipley in the NOLA area. Local franchise owners of the forthcoming Metairie Shipley — Scott Walker and wife Jennifer Walker, Jimmi Licciardi and restauranteur Desi Vega — told NOLA.com that Shipley’s higher-ups plan to open more locations in NOLA.
