Did a stray beach ball at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha help the Louisiana State University Tigers win against the Florida State University Seminoles in the College World Series? Highly acclaimed eatery Compère Lapin seems to think so.
After a colorful blowup ball hit the field on Saturday, June 17, the LSU baseball team made a comeback to win. This prompted whoever is in charge of Compère Lapin’s Facebook page to order 30 beach balls and have them sent to Omaha to help the team win the series.
To our friends in Omaha, be on the lookout for 30 beach balls coming your way. #geauxtigers #cws @collegeworldseries @lsubaseball

SBNation describes how the Tigers won at the last minute:
So. With LSU trailing 4-3 but nibbling at the tail, Florida State committed three heinous blunders on the same play that plated the Tigers the tying run. They would go on to score the winning run in that inning, and holy hell, it was the end of day. How do you even score this play?
Compère Lapin is betting that it’s the beach balls.
