Chef Justin Devillier and business parter and wife Mia Freiberger-Devillier, of La Petite Grocery and Balise, are opening a French brasserie on Chartres Street in the French Quarter near the Hotel Monteleone, reports Brett Anderson of NOLA.COM.
In the report, Devillier says that the new restaurant is still in the “infant phase.” It doesn’t have a name or an opening date yet. The couple is still working out the concept, but they do know is that it will be their version of a brasserie.
The French Quarter, located in the former Hurwitz Mitz space, restaurant will be the couple’s third restaurant. They opened Balise in the Central Business District in 2014. The couple’s first restaurant, La Petite Grocery, is an award-winning destination Uptown on Magazine Street.
La Petite Grocery is listed as one of on Eater’s 38 Essential New Orleans restaurants. The restaurant is also listed as one of Eater’s 38 Essential Restaurants in the South. Devillier won the James Beard Award for Best Chef South in 2016.
