The vine-covered building on Magazine Street, home to a dizzying number of restaurants over the years, is getting a new tenant: Peruvian restaurant, Tito Ceviche and Pisco (5015 Magazine St.) will open in early August, reports Todd Price.
The building is also getting a makeover. Juan and Tatiana Lock, who are behind the new restaurant, plan “to completely renovate the building to make it lighter and brighter.”
Pisco has been experiencing a moment, or more specifically — taking the country by storm) — and this new ceviche and Pisco spot follows Catahoula Hotel in seriously upping New Orleans’ Pisco game with a Pisco-centric bar program.
The building was most recently the home of Sue Zemenick’s upscale lounge for cocktails and small plates, Ivy. Ivy closed in 2015, after a little more than a year in business, and the building operated as a private event space until the Locks began plotting their Peruvian restaurant.
