Everything Alton Brown Ate While in New Orleans

Spoiler: He only ate one thing

Drum roll, please. Back in March, longtime Food Network fixture and Good Eats legend Alton Brown started crowd-sourcing restaurant recommendations for the nationwide tour of his Eat Your Science multimedia variety show. Recommendations flooded in to Brown’s social media channels and New Orleanians were warned that his Wednesday stop in the Crescent City would be brief.

Turns out that it was so brief that he only had time for one meal in New Orleans. The anxiety attached to narrowing it down to one meal must have been devastating. He did his best and chose well though. Alton Brown chowed down on a fried shrimp po-boy, dressed, from Parkway Bakery and Tavern.

There’s a good chance those crowd-sourced recs didn’t make much of a splash in his choosing though. He ate the same exact lunch in New Orleans during his last variety show visit back in 2014. The man has his favorites. Really, you can’t blame him.

Poor boys happened. #ABRoadEatsNOLA @parkwaytavern
