The Daily Beet, the eagerly anticipated expansion from JuiceNOLA is now open in the Central Business District, reports NOLA.com. Owner Dylan Maisel opened JuiceNOLA at St. Roch Market in April 2015, and was one of the market’s first vendors.
Now, nearly two years after opening his market stall, Maisel has launched his first stand-alone spot at 1000 Girod St., inside The Beacon, a sister property to The Paramount and Central Business District’s South Market District development.
The Daily Beet’s schtick is good-for-you eats — Maisel told NOLA.com: “there is a lack of healthy food in this city.” The menu should help change that, and includes toasts — avocado with tomato and chili flakes, roasted beets with eggs and harissa — and bowls served on beds of greens, along with salads. A large part of the menu is smoothies, too, with bases of almond or rice milk. Local purveyors help round-out the offerings at The Daily Beet — semolina bread from Leo’s Bread and coffee from Coast Roast.
