- Ian McNulty over at the Advocate has released his “The Essential 100” — his 100 must-visit restaurants in New Orleans. McNulty explains in his intro that the list is very subjective, and tries to get ahead of any criticism: “Not all of your favorite restaurants are here,” he writes. “Not all of mine are either.” You can check out the guide in list form, or as an interactive map. [ADVOCATE]
- McNulty has been busy — leading up to the crawfish craze known as Easter in New Orleans, he wrote about Bevi Seafood Co.’s Justin LeBlanc and his wonderfully harmonious relationships with the other seafood fellas who are his competition. [ADVOCATE]
- While it’s March that comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, the latter meat still sounds right for April. So Where Y’at rounded up a bunch of NOLA restaurants that are serving the dish — from smoked leg soup at Toups South to a lamp wrap with Indian flavors from Turkey and the Wolf. [Where Y’at]
- The spot that housed Cafe Freret for over a decade is looking for a new restauranteur to fill the space. Uptown Messenger has word that the building is undergoing a major reno, while the owner of the building is looking for someone new to take over and serve some tasty grub. [Uptown Messenger]
