Next week there will be another way to get your fresh juice — and coffee and pastry — fix Uptown when the Pulp and Grind opens its second location, reports Gambit. Pulp and Grind, from the folks behind Satsuma Cafe, will open at 5720 Magazine Street, on Monday, April 17. The new spot is being headed by managing partner and part-owner LaShaun Crawford, who has also served as manager at Satsuma Maple.
The second location will be very much like Pulp and Grind’s first, at 644 Camp Street — the menu will have all the cold-pressed fresh juices, coffee, pastries (including scones, muffins, cookies, biscuits) and bagel bombs that made its first locale a hit.
5270 Magazine St. previously housed HiVolt Bakery, an expansion of the well-loved HiVolt Coffee in the Lower Garden District, which opened in early 2016, selling coffee and, of course, baked goods. The HiVolt Bakery outpost operated for just about year and quietly closed in January of 2017.
