With a 30-day crabbing moratorium colliding with a plentiful crawfish season, the race is on to find the best prices and the best tasting boiled crawfish. Naturally, there’s an app for that, reports Elizabeth Vowell of Fox 8 News .
Ryan and Laney King, a couple from Baton Rouge, noticed that they spent a lot of time calling various crawfish vendors and restaurants looking for boiled crawfish each season. Vowell reports that Ryan King said, "Often times, we'd call for maybe an hour trying to find crawfish, trying to find the cheapest price if we were throwing a big crawfish boil. At some point, my wife and I were just driving around and we said, 'We need to make an app for that.' So we did.”
The free app features a growing list of hundreds of vendors and restaurants across Louisiana and Texas selling boiled and/or live crawfish. In the New Orleans area, local favorites like Bevi Seafood, Seither’s Seafood, Bobby’s and The Galley. It also features an easy-to-use vendor submission button, and lets users search by ranking and reviews, price, and location.
