Mid-City’s Lafitte Greenway may soon get that outdoor bar, reports Richard Thompson. New Orleans city planners unanimously approved the plans for the undeveloped site on Tuesday, March 28. City Council will make the final decision.

The team behind Camp Bow Wow in Mid-City — Herbert Dyer, Billy Good and Rusty Smith — are heading up this project. Real estate batman Sydney Torres IV owns the site, part of about five acres he has in that area.

According to Thompson,

Plans call for an elevated, one-story building with a mezzanine, nine parking spaces, more than 60 bicycle parking spots, an off-street loading space, a dumpster pad and three 230-square-foot covered outdoor seating areas.

Opened in November of 2015, The Lafitte Greenway is a 2.6 mile path that spans from City Park to Louis Armstrong Park. The bar is one of the first retail spaces proposed along the path.
